What do you like to eat in the mornings?
Ich esse eine Banane zum Frühstück.
I eat a banana for breakfast.
Mein Vater trifft meinen Opa freitags.
My father meets my grandpa on Fridays.
Was machst du abends?
What do you do in the evenings?
Ich mache abends Sport.
I exercise in the evenings.
Ich treffe meine Eltern sonntags zum Abendessen.
I meet my parents on Sundays for dinner.
TIP

The vowels they are a‑changin’

Some verbs change their vowel before adding the ending. Luckily, this only happens in the du and er / sie / es forms!

The verb stem ess changes to iss for the du and er/sie/es form, and only for those forms.
