You already saw how estar can be used to describe temporary conditions. You can also use estar to talk about the location of places, objects, or people.
In Spanish, you never say de el. Instead, these words are combined together into del.
Similarly, a and el are always combined together into al.
But de and a don't combine with la, los, or las.
Estamos cerca de la calle.
We are close to the street.
¿Por qué no quieres ir a los parques?
Why don't you want to go to the parks?
